Miss Chanita Jones Franklin Middle School
About Me
I am a recent Southern Illinois University Carbondale, College of Education and Human Services graduate from Chicago, Illinois. I received my bachelors degree in Special Education. I love teaching, but more than that I love learning. I am currently working on two goals, becoming a fluent Spanish speaker and a better teacher.
I currently have the pleasure of teaching on Franklin's 8 North Team. I teach Math, Reading, Language Arts, and Science. At Franklin we practice a co-teaching model to foster inclusive and conducive learning environments for all students. The 8 North Team is a coherent team of teachers, committed to collaboration. I am impassioned by actions that support the saying, "two heads are better than one." I am thrilled by the benefit of having several different experts come together for one purpose. The experts include not only Faculty and Staff at Franklin Middle School, but also the parents and families of each student who attends. I believe that teachers are experts on content and instruction, but parents are the experts on their kids and educating the kids MUST be a collaborative effort for complete success.
